Michel Borg joins CannonDesign as Texas-based design leader

We’re thrilled to share that Michel Borg, AIA, LEED AP, has joined the firm as a principal and the senior design leader for our Texas offices.

Michel is a well-known design leader with over 30 years of experience, having shaped dynamic, meaningful, sustainable and award-winning projects across numerous building typologies. Based in Dallas, he’ll steer the creative direction of our work in the Dallas and Houston offices and lead the design of major projects across Texas and beyond.

During his career, Michel has held design leadership positions with numerous firms, including most recently at Page/ where he led its Dallas studio, focusing on large-scale projects, mentoring young designers and building a design-forward practice. Before that, he was the Southeast Regional Design Director for HKS. His portfolio includes projects like the AIA COTE Award-winning UC San Diego North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood, the University of Texas Tyler Science Building and the United States Tennis Association Headquarters in Orlando, among others.

Beyond his professional work, Michel’s experience as an educator gives him a unique perspective on emerging trends in design and the needs of those entering the architectural profession. He has taught at institutions like NJIT, the University of Texas (Austin), the University of Texas Arlington, Princeton, the University of Florida (CityLab – Orlando), and the University of Virginia.
